What Offline play & Storage are for
Tomorrow Kid is built so bedtime stories and familiar exercises can keep going on planes, in cars, and on weak Wi‑Fi—without a separate “download pack” button parents have to hunt for.
When you open a story online, the app quietly prepares images and narration for later. Offline, the story list falls back to what is already saved, and a story that was never cached shows a calm message that it is not ready yet. Across Math, Memory, Tracing, Logic Lab, and Stickers, previously opened packs prefer cache so they can survive without a live connection.
Parents manage space in Settings → Storage (behind the same parent math gate used for Sound and Language): Storage Usage shows how much is cached, and Clear Cache wipes downloaded media so the device can reclaim room.
How offline prep and Storage work
- Open a story while online—Tomorrow Kid compares freshness, downloads images + narration, and marks the story as downloaded for offline return
- Browse Stories offline—the list shows locally saved titles; open one that was prepared earlier to keep reading without Wi‑Fi
- Open Settings (parent math gate first)
- In Storage, tap Storage Usage to see total cached size and cached exercises
- Use Clear Cache when you need space—downloaded media and exercise caches are removed; stories and packs re-download the next time you open them online
- Watch for Offline Ready vs Online Required cues (plus Auto-Sync) when local exercises exist so you know what can run without a connection
Story cache is separate from the broad Clear Cache path: clearing story media removes saved images and narration; those titles prepare again when opened online.
A calm way to introduce it at home
- Before a trip, open tonight’s story once while Wi‑Fi is strong so images and narration can finish downloading.
- Flip the device to airplane mode and reopen that story—confirm the read still works.
- Pass the parent math gate yourself, open Storage Usage, and glance at size so you know what the app is holding.
- Only use Clear Cache when storage is tight; expect a re-download the next online open.
- Pair this with Stories and Daily Goal: prepare the listen offline, then keep the “enough for today” rhythm without hunting for signal.
