How Parent Notes help you coach Learn & Play exercises
A parent guide to Tomorrow Kid’s Parent Notes—Exercise Details from the ⋯ menu, age and difficulty chips, coaching tips, and the empty-state when no note is attached.
What Parent Notes are for
Tomorrow Kid’s Parent Notes are short coaching tips attached to Learn & Play exercises. Open the ⋯ menu on an exercise card, tap Parent Notes, and you get an Exercise Details sheet: cover photo, description, age range, difficulty level, category, and the coaching note itself. When no note is attached, the sheet still shows the exercise facts and a calm empty state—“No notes available for this exercise.”
This is scaffolding for adults, not a second activity for kids. It sits beside Daily Goal / My Progress (habit tracking) and the Sticker Book (rewards) without replacing either.
How the coaching sheet works
- On a Learn & Play exercise card, tap the ⋯ menu (bottom-right of the card)
- Choose Parent Notes (note icon)—the sheet title is Exercise Details
- Skim age range, difficulty (“Level …”), and category chips so the activity matches your child
- Read the Parent Notes body when present; use it to model the first turn or decide whether to sit nearby
- Tap Done to close—notes ride with the exercise content (including cached offline records)
Parent Notes are coaching. Report a problem is a separate menu item for bugs or feedback—do not confuse the two.
A calm way to introduce it at home
- Before your child starts a new exercise, open Parent Notes once and read the tip yourself.
- Share one concrete cue out loud (“watch the letter, then swipe”) instead of narrating the whole sheet.
- If the empty state appears, use the age and difficulty chips to decide whether to stay or step back.
- Leave the sheet closed during play so the child’s screen stays the play surface.
What to try next
Use Parent Notes when a new exercise feels unfamiliar, then lean on Daily Goal for “enough for today” and My Progress for a weekly glance. When you are ready, open Tomorrow Kid, find an exercise card, and open Parent Notes from the ⋯ menu before the first play.
